INDEPENDENCE — Loren A. Farrar Sr., 65, Independence, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007 in his residence. He had been in failing health for the past two years. He was born Sept. 9, 1942 in Boswell, the son of Ira Earl and Florence Ada (Hunicutt) Farrar. He married Judy Kay Yonts Oct. 18, 1964 in West Lebanon. She survives. He was raised in West Lebanon, attending West Lebanon school. He had resided in Independence for the past 36 years. He formerly worked with his father building fences. He later worked as a heavy equipment operator for 27 years, working at Waymire Construction Company. He enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to fish and hunt. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. Survivors, besides the wife, include: five children, Kay (Chuck) Houck, Reva (Randy) Richardson, Loren (companion Deana Statler) Farrar Jr., all of Independence, Teresa (companion Ray Clark) Dyer, Riverside, and Marsha (Ross) Lillpop, West Lebanon; five brothers, Albert “Dude” (Joanne) Farrar, Weslie “Fat” (Pearl) Farrar, both of West Lebanon, Leslie “Fuzz” (Lola) Farrar, Apopka, Fla., Phillip (Gina) Farrar, Attica, Ohio, and Melvin (Pat) Farrar, Williamsport; two sisters, Ada Turner, West Lebanon and Vivian (Kenny) Green, Independence; 17 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers, Irvin and Earl Farrar; and six sisters, Jewell Todd, Mary May Farrar, Phyllis Kay Farrar, Evangiline Ray, Ruth Purcell and Anna Harper. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Daniel Jordan officiating. Burial was in Independence Cemetery.
